Community Health Focus & Impact
NOML is aligned with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Healthy People 2030 framework, which emphasizes health equity, preventive care, chronic disease reduction, and the social determinants of health (SDOH). Founded to address the persistent and widening gap in access to preventive health services in disadvantaged communities, NOML operates at the intersection of public health outreach, community organizing, and SDOH navigation.
Our work is grounded in the conviction that every resident of Northwest Florida — regardless of income, insurance status, geography, or race — deserves access to meaningful, high-quality health resources. NOML's service model prioritizes those most often left behind by the traditional healthcare system: racial and ethnic minority populations, low-income families, aging adults, uninsured and underinsured residents, and individuals living in geographically isolated rural communities.
NOML’s programs directly support Healthy People 2030 objectives by increasing access to screenings, improving health literacy, strengthening community-clinical linkages, and reducing disparities among underserved and economically disadvantaged populations. NOML has established a strong track record of delivering impactful community health programming through an innovative volunteer-driven model. Our annual multi-county community health fairs integrate clinical-grade screening services — including blood pressure, glucose, body mass index (BMI), vision, and mental health screenings — with health literacy education, resource navigation, and referral to primary and specialty care.
Past events have helped established NOML health fairs as a trusted source in Northwest Florida for assessing hypertension, diabetes, asthma/COPD, mental health, and other chronic conditions. These events revealed significant unmet needs, including high rates of abnormal blood pressure and glucose readings, limited access to primary care, and strong community demand for follow-up navigation. NOML's health literacy workshops, delivered in partnership with faith communities, civic organizations, and school systems, have equipped hundreds of residents with practical skills in chronic disease management, nutrition, stress reduction, and mental well-being.

“During the Not One More Life Community Health Fair held at Shoal River Middle School in Crestview, Florida, community leaders and residents gathered to take advantage of a wide variety of free health services and resources.
